Yes. A free account gets you 5 conversations every day with access to every text feature — documents, photos, speech-to-text mic, "Hey Vera" wake word, web search, and location-aware answers. All you need to create your account is your email.
Why do I need an account?
Your free account is how Vera keeps your responses private and synced across every device you sign into. It's also how we protect Vera's infrastructure from abuse, which lets us keep the service free. No password — ever. Just your email and a magic link that takes 10 seconds. That's it.
What counts as a "conversation"?
A conversation is one topic. When you tap "Ask Vera" to start something new, that's a conversation. You can then ask as many follow-up questions as you need inside that conversation and it still only counts as one against your daily limit. So a deep back-and-forth about a confusing medical bill is one conversation, even if it takes ten questions to fully understand it.
What makes Plus worth it?
Plus is for people who use Vera every day. You get 25 conversations a day, 30 minutes of voice conversation with Vera each month, longer document uploads, priority speed, forever history, and early access to new features. Pro ($8.99/mo) doubles voice to 60 minutes/month and adds family sharing. But honestly? The best reason is this: your $4.99 helps keep Vera completely free for people who genuinely can't afford to pay. Part tool, part act of mutual aid.
What happens when I hit my daily limit?
Vera politely lets you know you've used your 5 conversations for the day and shows a gentle upgrade option. Your bucket resets automatically at midnight. Follow-up questions inside an existing conversation never count against the limit.
How does the "Hey Vera" wake word work?
Say "Hey Vera" and she wakes up ready to listen — no tapping required. Available on Plus and Pro. Works in Chrome and Safari on any device. You can turn it on or off anytime in the help panel settings. Note: requires the Vera tab to be open.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Plus and Pro are monthly subscriptions through Stripe. Cancel with one click in your Stripe account and you'll keep your paid access until the end of your current billing period.
What does "family sharing" mean on Vera Pro?
Pro lets you add up to 5 email addresses to your household — each person gets their own cloud history and their own private conversation bucket. Great for families who share the same financial, legal, and healthcare paperwork.
Will paying influence Vera's answers?
Never. Paid, free, sponsored — everyone gets the same Vera. The whole reason Vera exists is to be on the user's side without an agenda. Paying doesn't change what Vera says; it just gives you more of her time.
Is my data private?
