By using Vera at heyvera.love, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. We've kept this as short and clear as possible — no 40-page legal document, just the honest deal.

What Vera is

Vera is an AI-powered life companion that helps you understand confusing situations — medical bills, legal documents, financial questions, government benefits, everyday life, and more. Vera provides information and guidance, not professional legal, medical, or financial advice.

Vera is smart, knowledgeable, and always on your side — but she's an AI, not a licensed professional. For major decisions involving your health, legal rights, or finances, always consult a qualified professional. Vera will tell you when you need one.

Free and paid tiers

• Free — 3 conversations per day without signing in, 5 per day when signed in. Access to all features. Free forever, no credit card required.
• Vera Plus ($4.99/month) — 25 conversations per day, longer document uploads, priority responses, "Hey Vera" wake word, cloud history saved forever, early access to new features.
• Vera Pro ($8.99/month) — unlimited conversations, family sharing for up to 5 people, longest document uploads, fastest priority responses, founding supporter status.

A "conversation" is one topic — you can ask as many follow-up questions as you need within a conversation and it counts as one.

Payments and cancellation

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime from your account page or the Stripe customer portal. When you cancel:

• Your paid access continues until the end of your current billing period.
• After that, you return to the free tier — still fully functional, just fewer daily conversations.
• We don't do refunds for partial months, but we also don't make cancellation hard. One click and you're done.

Your content

The questions you ask and documents you upload remain yours. We don't claim ownership of your content. We use it only to provide the service (generating Vera's responses) and, if you're signed in, to save your history so you can access it later. See our privacy policy for full details.

What you agree not to do

Please don't use Vera to:

• Harm, harass, or exploit other people
• Generate content that's illegal, abusive, or fraudulent
• Attempt to bypass rate limits or security measures
• Reverse-engineer the service or scrape data
• Impersonate Vera or represent yourself as affiliated with us

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms. We'll try to warn you first unless the violation is severe.

Limitation of liability

Vera is provided "as is." We do our best to make her accurate, helpful, and available — but we can't guarantee perfection. Specifically:

• Vera's responses may contain errors. Always verify important information with a qualified professional.
• We're not liable for decisions you make based on Vera's guidance.
• We're not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or technical issues beyond our reasonable control.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months (for free users, that's $0).

Termination

You can stop using Vera anytime. You can delete your account by emailing hello@heyvera.love — we'll remove all your data within 48 hours.

We can terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. If we do, we'll tell you why unless we're legally prohibited from doing so.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email (if you've opted in) and update this page. Continuing to use Vera after changes means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ramsey County, Minnesota.
